MARCO RICCI (BELLUNO 1676-VENICE 1730)

A landscape with a rustic bridge

c.1719

RCIN 991147

Many of Marco Ricci’s landscape drawings were influenced by the countryside around his home town of Belluno, 100 km to the north of Venice in the mountainous Dolomites. This drawing shows an imagined landscape with figures at work mending fences, and a man and his mule crossing a bridge.
