Antonio Visentini and Francesco Zuccarelli collaborated on a series of 11 overdoor capricci for Smith showing important examples of British architecture in Palladio’s style. Designed by Colen Campbell for John Fane, later 7th Earl of Westmorland, Mereworth Castle in Kent is a direct copy of Andrea Palladio’s Villa Rotonda near Vicenza.
