Eighteenth century guidebooks to Windsor

The local bookseller Joseph Pote first published Les Delices de Windsore, or,
A Description of Windsor Castle and the country adjacent
in 1755; Charles Knight's A Windsor Guide appeared in 1783.

Both books contained descriptive tours of the Castle, and appeared in many later editions.

Costing around two shillings and conveniently pocket-sized, the guidebooks were both affordable and portable.
