The absence of lettering and the odd arrangement of the coronation regalia suggest that this engraving, known only through this impression, was intended as a model for copying onto other popular media such as ceramics. Similarities can be found between this simplified yet striking image of the king and those found on earthenware mugs and celebratory medals. The pin holes in each corner suggest that it was originally pinned to a wall rather than pasted into a collector's album.
