Tours and Diplomacy
As Head of State and Head of the Commonwealth, The Queen has travelled more widely and further than any other monarch in British history, paying visits to virtually every country in the world since her accession.
The planning and preparation of wardrobes for tours requires a great deal of work and attention to detail.
Often involving more than one designer, ensembles are carefully chosen to ensure they are appropriate to the climate of the country visited, that they respect any religious conventions and also, where possible, colours of fabrics and embroideries are incorporated which pay subtle compliments to the host nation.
