FERDINAND ZSCHÄCK (1801-77)

View from the Window in the Corridor of the Rosenau

1841

RCIN 402500

Prince Albert brought with him to England memories of the gardens he had known in Coburg, particularly those of the Rosenau, the summer residence of the Dukes of Coburg. In 1845 Queen Victoria had the opportunity to see for herself ‘the dear Rosenau, my beloved Albert’s birthplace & favourite home... Albert is so, so happy to be here with me, – it is like a beautiful dream.’
