While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 8 September 1860, the Queen ascended the hill of Culardoch with her daughter, Princess Helena before heading through Corrour into Invercauld where their carriage was waiting to take them back to Balmoral.
