A watercolour showing a view of the Valley of Braemar from Corrour. Hills are shown in the background behind a forest. Inscribed lower left: From Car Or [sic] looking on the valley of Braemar. Sep: 8- 1860. While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 8 September 1860, the Queen ascended the hill of Culardoch with her daughter, Princess Helena before heading through Corrour into Invercauld where their carriage was waiting to take them back to Balmoral.
