This cabinet combines superb examples of seventeenth-century Florentine hardstone inlay work, including a tulip and a crown imperial fritillary, with relief panels probably made at the Gobelins workshops in Paris. Weisweiler’s versatility with materials extended to the use of Boulle marquetry to frame each of the mosaic panels.
