JOHN GROVE

Letter from John Grove concerning vegetables to be grown at Kew

c.1750

Augusta, Princess of Wales, had an interest in many aspects of horticulture. This letter was written by the Clerk of the Kitchen to an unidentified member of the Princess’s Household and accompanied a list of the root and green vegetables to be grown at Kew Palace, where the Princess was often resident. Grove’s concern with making economies is clear.
