Chinese porcelain wares formed a part of the inherited royal collection at the accession of George I. Chinese wares made specifically for export were popular in Britain at least until rival European manufacturers were established on native soil in the mid-eighteenth century. Queen Caroline was known to be a lover of porcelain, both Chinese and German. Bought by HM The Queen in 1963 Cat. 266
