Balmoral: the Lower Corridor and Staircase, seen from below
dated 1857RCIN 919476
The simple decoration of the Lower Corridor provided a contrast to the comforts of the upper floors. The space was hung with the heads of stags hunted by the Prince. Under the mirror can be seen the bronze Le Lion Amoureux (no. 91) by Charles Geefs, a reduction
of the life-size plaster that was shown at the Great Exhibition.
