The Drawing Room, Balmoral
dated Sep 1857RCIN 919477
Balmoral Castle was comparatively simply furnished and the decorative schemes had a distinctly Scottish flavour, with tartan upholstery and wallpapers patterned with thistles and heathers. One of the cabinets from this room, together with its candelabra and the clock on the mantelpiece, are included in this exhibition (nos 174, 134 and 179).
