Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought two almost identical cabinets of this elaborate Gothic-revival design. The first (not surviving) came from King Louis-Philippe’s collection; this second example was purchased at the Paris Exhibition in 1855 for the Royal Library at Windsor. The bronze figures represent History, Architecture, Sculpture and Numismatics.
