Percussion gun
1844RCIN 1572
Prince Albert was a keen shot and although he brought sporting guns with him from Germany and continued to favour the Koenig firm of Coburg (nos 202–3), he soon developed a preference for English makers such as Charles Lancaster. However, this highly ornamental gun was intended as a showpiece rather than a practical weapon.
Presented to Prince Albert by King Louis-Philippe in 1844
