In 1845, the royal couple travelled to Coburg to visit Prince Albert’s homeland. Schloss Rosenau, near Coburg, was where Albert spent his childhood. This attic room was the nursery he shared with his elder brother and their tutor. The artist was also an architect and curator of the ducal art collections.
