c.1839

RCIN 453333

The North Terrace of Windsor Castle, perched on the edge of a steep slope and affording views which encompass both the Castle buildings and the surrounding countryside, has long been a favourite site for artists. A self-taught artist specialising in topographical views, James Baker Pyne first exhibited in his native Bristol in 1824, eventually moving to London in 1835.
