A pair of Chinese porcelain vase with French gilt-bronze mounts, of ovoid form, cut down, the mouth of the vase encased in a spreading gadrooned band of gilt bronze, the tapering shoulder and short neck raised on a pierced guilloche gilt-bronze band, joining on either side a pair of lion masks with rising acanthus scroll loop handles, sitting in a fluted gilt-bronze stem on a pedestal foot with a laurel band, on a square base with concave corners. The sides are painted with chrysanthemums with white petalled blooms, and tall stems of bamboo growing by rocks.
