Upright rectangular drop-front secretaire veneered with ebony and fitted with gilt bronze mounts, a black marble top and seventeeth-century Japanese lacquer panels depicting landscapes and birds. Above the drop front is a drawer fitted with three lacquer panels; the drop front opens to reveal a nest of seven drawers and three compartments. On the exterior it is fitted with a single large lacquer panel depciting a village with mountains behind. Below the drop-front are two doors each fitted with a single lacquer panel. Each side also fitted with three lacquer panels.
