People at Work

1985

RCIN 407753

This harvest scene shows figures hard at work amongst banana palms and coconut trees in Grenada. The vibrant green foliage provides a rich decorative element to the painting. It is one of a series of scenes of agricultural work produced by Grenadian Elinus Cato over a period of at least ten years, many with similarly dense compositions.

Presented to Queen Elizabeth II at the Grenada Police Headquarters during the Commonwealth Visit to Grenada,1985
