The wedding of Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg at Carlton House
RCIN 917619
The marriage of Princess Charlotte, the only child of George IV, and Prince Leopold of Saxe-Coburg, was held at Carlton House, the London residence of George in 1816.
This preparatory drawing is believed to be by Richard Westall, who produced an engraving of the event. In later life, Westall was drawing master to Princess Victoria, who became Queen in place of her late cousin, Charlotte.
