ATTRIBUTED TO GERRIT JENSEN (ACTIVE 1680-D.1715)

Cabinet

RCIN 39212

This cabinet is attributed to Gerrit Jensen, a cabinetmaker of Dutch or Flemish origin, for William III. Jensen’s work was very desirable as he was the only cabinetmaker working in late-seventeenth century England who is known to have used metal inlays, seen on this cabinet, and seaweed marquetry, seen on the other Jensen cabinet in this gallery. Acquired by William III and Mary II for Kensington Palace.
