Since the reign of King Edward VII, many royal Christmases have been spent at Sandringham House in Norfolk.

This photograph, taken in 1908, shows some of the children of King George V and Queen Mary, accompanied by one of their dogs, enjoying the wintery surroundings and sledging on the frozen lake at Sandringham.
