This Laureate poem was written in praise of British victories in the Peninsular War in 1813, and the inspirational leadership of Lord Wellesley (later the Duke of Wellington). This copy was sumptuously bound in red morocco leather and watered silk for presentation to the Prince Regent, later George IV.
